- Toured and performed demonstrations throughout South Korea in 2000 as part of the 55th Anniversary of the Moo Duk Kwan, and met Tang Soo Do founder GrandMaster Hwang Kee at the Central Dojang in Seoul.
- Awarded “The Grandmaster’s Award” -the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan’s highest honor, for National and International Service, in 2005.
- Tested for 5th Degree Black Belt in South Korea-an 8 day test with 16 countries represented. Attended the 60th Anniversary of the Moo Duk Kwan celebration.
- Authored several nationally published articles in Occupational Therapy journals on the use of the martial arts with individuals with special needs and has presented the topic at Michigan and Ohio State Occupational Therapy Conferences.
Master Joyce Tredeau began training in Monroe, MI under (the late) Master Henry Fuentes and earned her 1st Dan in 1991. She joined the Tang Soo Do (Soo Bahk Do) Moo Duk Kwan Federation in 1997 under Master Russell Hanke, and then joined the American Tang Soo Do Association in 2011 under (the late) Grandmaster Richard Byrne. She is now under the tutelage of Senior Master Marco DiScipio. Over 30 students who began training with Master Tredeau have reached the rank of Black Belt, 4 of whom have become Masters. All 3 of Master Tredeau’s children have trained in Tang Soo Do, and her daughter Alina earned 2nd Dan. Master Tredeau’s 2 grandchildren also train in Tang Soo Do.
